Black Skin Approved Sunscreen: Dr. Dennis Gross All-Physical Lightweight Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30
Hello, beautiful people! My name is Terrell Britten and I’m always on the hunt for sunscreens that work for my deep skin tone. This week, I put the new Dr. Dennis Gross All-Physical Lightweight Wrinkle Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($42) to the test.
This is an oil-free sunscreen that uses zinc oxide as the UV filter. It also contains antioxidants like lingonberry, ferulic acid, and sea buckthorn to help protect and repair your skin from UV damage. It also promises an invisible finish on all skin tones (aka no purple or white cast).
The lightweight formula really melted into my skin and didn’t feel heavy or greasy. Normally, physical sunscreens leave some type of white, grey, or purple cast on my skin, but I was pleasantly surprised by how nicely this one blended in.
My tip for applying sunscreens is to pat or press them into your skin (and not rub them in). I find that they blend into the skin easier when I press them in and the result is more even.

I’m excited to finally have a physical sunscreen that works on my skin tone to add into my skincare routine, especially since summer is just around the corner! Tell me in the comments if you’ve tried this sunscreen and let me know what you think.
